South Doc Rule Out Increasing Their Service in Youghal

Fears have been raised that there are not enough doctors to look after patients at evenings and weekends in part of East Cork.
Fianna Fail TD Kevin O’Keeffe has expressed serious concerns over the South Doc out of hours service in the region.
During the first two months of 2017 patients were seen on 38 separate occasions at a state of the art unit in Millennium Park Youghal, that was developed to accommodate the service.
Deputy O’Keeffe said the Youghal facility was not being used to its full potential and is often empty with residents forced to travel 30km to Midleton or Dungarvan.
