St Mary’s High School To Hold Fundraising Table Quiz

By Alan Sheehan

St Mary’s High School, Midleton will host its annual table quiz in Wallis’ bar on Monday, 27 March.
The third annual table quiz, organised by the Parents’ Association, will begin at 7pm with its proceeds going towards the school. A table of four costs €40 and can be purchased on the night.
“We have ran it each year for the last three years,” said Celine Roche, Chairperson of St Mary’s High School Parents’ Association. “Last year it made €1800 for the school and the year before that it made €1600. So anything over €1500 is really good for St Mary’s.”
The table quiz will offer a cash prize for the winning team and the Parents Association is looking for people or businesses to sponsor prizes.
“Mick Higgins of Higgins Quiz is the quizmaster on the night,” said Ms Roche, “and we will have four prizes. The first prize is a cash prize of €100 for the winners. We are trying to get the other three prizes, which will be vouchers and things like that, sponsored. We will also have spot prizes in between each round and a raffle on the night. We are going to put it out through the school to parents and to the businesses who sponsored us last year to see if they can give us anything towards the quiz this year.”
Anyone wishing to donate or sponsor a prize for the table quiz can contact St Mary’s High School Parents’ Association by email at
