Streetscape Painting, Signage & Improvement Scheme 2017 Launched for Districts of Youghal and Midleton

The Cork County Council Scheme, launched in Youghal this week, promises to be of significant help to tenants or owners of buildings on the Main Streets of Youghal and Midleton, who can avail of a grant of up to 50% for the cost of painting their premises. The Scheme will also provide a grant of up to 50% of the costs of replacing existing plastic, neon and printed signs with Heritage Type Signs, along with other incentives.

Speaking with The East Cork Journal, Cllr Mary Linehan emphasised the inclusion of Signage and Improvements in the 2017 Scheme, and welcomed the initiative to the East Cork towns. "This is a very significant Scheme", she said, "which will help groups such as Youghal Tidy Towns, and all those who volunteer their time and work tirelessly to make their towns beautiful.
