St Colman’s Community College Midleton treated two PE classes to a unique experience this past Wednesday, 29 March.
As part of a Physical Education Initiative one class was given the chance to play bubbleball – soccer while wearing a sphere of transparent plastic that leaves only the legs free – in the school hall yesterday, with a second class playing the unique game this morning.
"Physical activity plays an important role in the lives of children and young people,” said Marie O’Neill, the PE teacher at St Colman’s Community College who afforded her classes the opportunity to play this unique sport. “This philosophy is encouraged and harnessed in St. Colman’s Community College through physical education classes, extracurricular and co-curricular activities. Incorporating fun and inclusive activities is vital for everyone's development and none more so than through bubble soccer.”
