The third James Stevens Memorial Fundraiser for the East Cork Rapid Response (ECRR) takes place this Sunday, 8 October.
This year’s James Stevens Memorial event will begin with a classic car run around East Cork, which will be followed by a concert at the Sportsman Inn in Mogeely. Both events are free to enter, but donations towards the ECRR on the day would be appreciated.
Those wishing to take part in the classic car run are advised to meet at the Mogeely Creamery for 12pm, with the run departing at approximately 1pm. The run is expected to return for approximately 4pm, with the concert beginning afterwards.
The musical acts performing at the Sportsman Inn include Top Men, Rowan, Bad Reputation, Rockhard, Lorenzo Blue, Johnny Houlihan, Dots and Henny, Mike Carey, Roger Ryan, Mark Ryan, Mike Baker, Katy Stevens, and Aaron McCarthy. There will also be a raffle on the night, with spot prizes sponsored by local businesses.
This is the third such event held in memory of James Stevens, a musician and student at CIT Cork School of Music, who passed away unexpectedly in 2015. The first two events also fundraised for the ECRR, raising in excess of €8000.
East Cork Rapid Response is a voluntary service which supplements the ambulance service by providing emergency pre-hospital care on par with ambulances at serious emergency medical incidents such as cardiac arrests, road traffic collisions and other traumas such as farm accidents. ECRR is run on a voluntary basis with the medical equipment and maintenance for the response car funded by public donations and all personnel working without pay.
