By Alan Sheehan

Representatives from Carrigtwohill, Cobh and Glanmire Tidy Towns Associations joined Chairperson of the Cobh Municipal District and Fine Gael Councillor Anthony Barry to launch the Cobh Municipal District launch Streetscape Painting & Signage Scheme in Carrigtwohill earlier this week.

Time is running out for Cobh building owners and tenants to apply for and avail of the Streetscape Painting & Signage Scheme.
The closing date for receipt of applications for the initiative by Cork County Council, which aims to enhance and upgrade towns and areas which require repainting or upgraded signage, is Friday, 26 May at 4.30pm.
Under the scheme tenants or owners of buildings can avail of a grant of up to 50% of the cost of painting the facades along the street, 50% of the costs of replacing existing plastic, neon & printed signs etc. with heritage-type signs and 50% towards the cost of materials where it is proposed the tenant/owner will undertake the work themselves.
