All roads lead to Whitegate for the 2018 St. Patricks Day Parade which takes place this coming Saturday 17 March. The parade will start at 12.30 pm on the New Road in Whitegate.
This year the organisers have reverted back to the route used when the parade was first established a number of years ago. Floats will gather along the New Road in Whitegate via the New Graveyard access road and travel the parade route down towards the village. Commenting on the plans for the parade, Chairperson of the Whitegate Residents Association Shane Russell said: ‘we are really looking forward to this year’s event. I would like to thank the team who have been working on this for the last few months to ensure that the event is another great success. I would also like to thank in advance the people living along the route who are so accommodating on the day of the event’.
This year’s event is looking like it will be the biggest and best yet with a large number of entries already received. Entertainment on the day will be by DJ Tommy and once again the legend that is ‘JR’ will be the MC for the event.
So, if you are looking for a place to be next Saturday make Whitegate Village your first port of call with the parade starting at 12.30 pm, you will be sure to be home in time to Watch Ireland hopefully take the Grand Slam on St. Patricks Day in Twickenham.
