Modern new toilets are set to be in place on Youghal’s Front Strand next summer, subject to Planning Approval.
The Planning Application, which also includes a Shower Block and new Lifeguard Station, are expected to go on display next month at the local Municipal Office.
The new facility will replace the existing toilet block, which will be demolished to make way for the new building.
Detailed designs have been completed and a consultant appointed. Cork County Council say they expect the eight week public consultation period to begin this October.
If Planning is approved, construction of the project is expected to commence as early as January 2019.
The proposed new building will be located on the site of the current facility, and will comprise of a two storey structure with both men's and ladies toilets on the ground floor, with storage.
The upper level will comprise of a purpose built Lifeguard facility and lookout balcony, with outside showers.
Tenders for the project through e-tenders will close on Wednesday 19 September.
