Youghal’s Pamela Sprints across Operation Transformation Finish Line

By Claire O'Donoghue

Pamela with family and friends.

What a few months Pamela Swayne has had – and along with her, the town of Youghal!  She was the perfect (Slimline) tonic to a long January and February. Watching her progress every Wednesday evening on Operation Transformation was a bright spot to look forward to in the middle of a dark winter week.

Now on the other side of her every move being recorded and televised, Pamela is still determined to continue with her health plan. Speaking with The East Cork Journal, she said, “It has been an amazing journey. I've spoken a lot about the fantastic support I've gotten from the whole town and beyond but it has been worth mentioning every chance I got. Individuals of all ages, local businesses and more have been cheering me on along the way, and it's made all the difference in the world to my determination. Personally, two great things for my health have come from taking part in Operation Transformation, which I never thought I'd be able to say before. The first is that I am officially a non-smoker, and the second is that I have truly caught the running bug. I'm really enjoying it and will definitely keep it up. My fitness level on Day 1 was equal to that of a 70 year old and now – it's on par with my age. I have lost 15lbs to date and 22 inches. I still can't quite believe it. Thank you all again for your support”.

Best of luck in your continued path to healthy living Pamela, from all at the East Cork Journal.  It's been a pleasure to see you do so well.
